With over 100 years of experience in the manufacturing and sales of soups, sauces, and gravies, plus a personal passion for gluten-free quality, the Swanson family developed the expertise needed to create a superior assortment of these products especially for Celiacs and the gluten-intolerant. We are proud to now offer this extensive line of incredibly delicious, gluten-free soup, sauce, and gravy mixes under our brand name, Full Flavor Foods!
Although our company officially opened in 2007, our gluten-free knowledge and passion began much earlier. After years of suffering, Anne Swanson’s “allergy” to wheat was diagnosed in the early 1970’s, long before Celiac Disease was seriously recognized or could be confirmed by the medical profession. So, she limited her food intake to mostly fruits, nuts, plain vegetables, and meats without sauces or special seasonings. Like other Celiacs and the gluten intolerant, she missed out on most of the delicious, extravagant soups, sauces, and gravies being served by restaurants and friends. When dining out, she usually had to “bother” the staff for “special food” prepared “plain” or seasoned only with salt and/or pepper.
Meanwhile, her husband Dave and sons, Mark and Paul, developed long careers serving as national and regional sales managers in the food service industry. For most of that time, we worked for leading soup/sauce/gravy base companies (from the mid-1960’s to the mid- 2000’s). During those many years, we developed numerous industry contacts and expertise primarily in the creation, production, and sales of gravies, soups, and sauces. In the early 1980’s, Anne Swanson opened and operated The Flavour Base, a national mail order company, offering these same premium products to consumers.
As our family continually witnessed the food challenges faced by Anne, we all agreed there was an immense need for a wide selection of delicious, high quality, gluten-free gravies, sauces, and soups. Retail choices were severely limited or non-existent. Finally, Mark began the initial gluten-free adventure by offering a limited assortment of gravies. The business changed and expanded in 2007 with the introduction of a greater variety of authentic, all natural choices including cheese sauces, soup stocks, and cream soup/sauce mixes.
Today, Full Flavor Foods recipes are developed by an eminently qualified food technologist with national recognition and honors. An unyielding pride in creating safe, high quality natural foods helps assure the positive recognition we receive nationwide, especially amongst our friends in the gluten-free community. The homemade taste, texture and appearance of our prepared products guarantee consumer satisfaction! And, every batch is independently tested and certified to be gluten-free! As a result, Full Flavor Foods currently supplies more than 1500 retailers nationwide including natural food/specialty stores and grocers. Our many foodservice customers include restaurants, hotels, healthcare, caterers, schools, and universities. We can even satisfy the industrial processing industry with proprietary work done to their specifications.
